Greetings!
It's
official -- the park's 128th season has begun! Over a thousand people
visited last weekend for the first rides, games, food and fun of the
summer. This year promises to be better than ever with new park
improvements, new Cirque show, some new employees -- and even new stuffed
animals in the games to win. Hope to see you all soon!

Physics Day - The Science of Fun

Have
you ever estimated the centripetal acceleration of the Sea Dragon, or
calculated the g-forces of the Jack Rabbit's first drop? These
exercises were part of the annual Seabreeze Physics Day May 24th,
when middle school students (at right, participants from Plank Road
North in Webster) and high school students got some hands-on
learning about the science behind amusement park rides. Physics can
be fun!

Final Preparations for the Summer of 2007

No
matter how hard we work during the off season, there's always a ton of
projects that we push to finish for our opening in May. This winter the bathhouse
was completely renovated, the Jack Rabbit station rebuilt, and the
Bobsleds got an extreme makeover (at left, mechanic Chris
Gardener helps install a new sign). And we're not done yet!

Skeeball Keeps on Rolling
|

This
"SKEE ROLL" sign hangs in the park office as a reminder of the rich
history of the amusement industry. Early Skeeball machines were
"Skeerolls", and were first made by the National Skee-Ball
Company of Coney Island NY. The perfect score of 450 points meant
you rolled nine 50-pointers in a row - a skill few could master (unless
you knew right where to roll it)! Today, Skeeball continues to be among
the top games in the arcade.
