CLUB SEABREEZE NEWSLETTER

October 2006

Hello!

Summer's over and autumn is in full swing. Maintenance crews have finished shutdown, and are now busy with outdoor projects like painting the Bobsleds, overhauling the Jack Rabbit station, and painting the pools in the waterpark. The office staff is finalizing the books on the past season, and preparing for 2007 with group sales and marketing efforts. Thanks again for your support this summer - we couldn't have done it without you!

IAAPA Chairman Has Whirlwind Year

China Expo

Park president Rob Norris completes his term as Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) next month at the IAAPA Expo in Atlanta. He turns over the gavel to Mats Wedin of Liseberg Park, Sweden. During the past year, Rob served as ambassabor and spokesman for the amusement industry as he traveled to Shanghai, Moscow, London, Vienna, Dubai, northern Italy and across the US. It was an amazing year for Rob, promoting the business he loves. In his words, "It's been a fantastic ride!"

Educational Programs at Seabreeze

Physics

What is the tangential velocity and centripital acceleration of the outside horses on the Carousel? How many G's of acceleration are produced at the bottom of the first drop of the Jack Rabbit? Questions like these are answered by students as they take part in our Physics Days. If you're looking for hands-on learning tailored to elementary, middle, or high school levels, we have the program for you. Contact the Group Sales Department today for more information.

And Now, The Rest of the Story

John & Suzy

In last month's history photo, three kids in wacky hats were pictured. They were fifth generation park-owners family members Anne (Norris) Wells, George Norris and Rob Norris, standing by the old Skeeball and 3-In-Line building at the north end of the park, circa 1955. Most of the building was knocked down this spring to make way for more picnic groves (always in demand at Seabreeze). Here's the rest of the fifth generation: Suzy (Price) Hofsass and John Norris, as they go for a stroll on the street where they grew up behind the Jack Rabbit, circa 1958. The sixth generation is now working at the park too!
